Accessibility Statement

Last updated: April 13, 2026

At InspectCE, we are committed to building tools that work for every home inspector, regardless of ability. Our website and mobile app are designed to be accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.

Home inspectors spend most of their day on job sites, not at desks. We build our app to be just as usable on a phone in bright sunlight as it is on a laptop at home. High contrast text, large touch targets, and simple navigation help inspectors log CE hours quickly -- even between inspections.

What we do

  • Provide skip navigation links so keyboard users can bypass repeated content.
  • Use semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy, landmarks, and ARIA labels.
  • Maintain a minimum color contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text.
  • Ensure all interactive elements are accessible by keyboard and have visible focus indicators.
  • Set a minimum touch target size of 44 by 44 pixels for mobile users.
  • Include alternative text for all meaningful images.
  • Label all form fields and provide clear error messages.
  • Set the page language attribute to help screen readers pronounce content correctly.

Standards we follow

We aim to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This covers guidelines for perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust web content. We test with screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, and automated accessibility tools.

Accessibility for home inspectors

We design with inspectors in mind. CE hour progress indicators use both color fills and numeric labels so they are readable by users with color vision differences. State requirement pages are built with properly structured data tables that screen readers can navigate row by row. Certificate upload uses a clear, labeled file picker rather than drag-and-drop alone. Renewal deadline alerts include descriptive text, not just visual countdown badges, so assistive technology can announce them properly.

Known limitations

While we work to make all content accessible, some areas may not yet fully meet every guideline. We are actively improving our site and app. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please let us know.
